Annual Reports.com – On this site you will find over 52,000 annual reports from 5,100 companies worldwide.

EDGAR – This website contains SEC filings from publicly registered companies.

YahooFinance – This website provides current financial news and opinions, stock quotes, and personal finance information.

Banking

Annual Statistical Digest – This is part of the website for the Federal Reserve Archival System for Economic Research; it offers economic and financial data, including interest rates, monetary aggregates, banking deposits and reserves, as well as historical mortgage rates, and production information.

FDIC: Industry Analysis – It Provides information on specific banks and analyses on the banking industry and industry trends.

Bankruptcy Statistics – Compiled by the U.S. Court system, this website includes statistics dating back to the 1990’s and allows for year to year comparisons.

Business Ethics/Corporate Social Responsibility

Ethics Resource Center – The ERC is a “nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization dedicated to independent research that advances high ethical standards and practices in public and private institutions.” Their website provides downloadable articles and survey results.

Business and Human Rights Resource Centre – This organization tracks the positive and negative impacts of 5100 companies worldwide; search by topic, company or big issues, and find articles, commentaries, human rights council sessions, and more on this website.

CorpWatch – The website of this nonprofit group provides investigative reporting in addition to current news on companies around the world. Also provides step-by-step guides to researching corporations on the Internet.

NetMBA – This is the website of the Internet Center for Management & Business Administration; it provides articles about various subjects of business administration geared towards both students and practicing professionals.

Business Magazines

Bloomberg Businessweek – This is the site of a weekly business magazine that provides in-depth perspectives on financial markets, industries, and business leaders.

The Economist – This site focuses on international politics and business news and opinions.

Entrepreneur – This site provides information to help create, grow or manage a small business.

Forbes  – This site features business and financial news and analysis including personal finance, lifestyle, technology and stock markets.

Fortune – Known for its rankings, e.g. Fortune 500, best and worst companies to work for, 50 most powerful women in business, this site covers a wide range of business and economic news. .

Inc. – On this site you will find helpful information for business startups.

Kiplinger – This magazine’s website offers advice, articles, videos and webinars, an economic outlook, and more.

Center for Business Planning – On this site you will find business plan samples, software, and strategy.

The Elements of a Business Plan (PDF) – This resource provided by the Department of Agricultural Economics at Purdue University is a step by step plan for new entrepreneurs.

How to Prepare & Present a Successful Business Funding Request (PDF) – This resource gives in-depth strategies for creating and presenting business funding requests.

Tutorial Writing a Business Plan Adapted for the Wild Harvest Sector (PDF) – This is a written tutorial for writing a business plan for persons in the Wild Harvest Sector.

MBA Association – The MBA Association (MBAA) seeks to provide a platform on which to test, launch and develop business concepts allowing the user to create and socially network their own “brand identity.”

MBA Depot – MBA Depot is an online community focused on and marketed to MBAs. Much of the content found on this site is of great value to anyone who is interested in the education that an MBA represents.

My Own Business – My Own Business, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to helping people succeed in business. The free courses are presented by successful business owners who point out the common, avoidable mistakes.

Vault – This site is for students and professionals, offering “inside information” on over 5,000 companies and top education programs, a job board, sample resumes, career advice and lots more.

WetFeet – This business oriented website offers advice for undergrads and MBA students on all areas of finding a job (resume, interviews, salaries, etc.).

EDGAR – SEC filings from publicly registered companies.

Executive Pay Watch – This website maintained by the AFL-CIO monitors executive pay, provides information on CEO’s total compensation packages and allows you to compare workers’ salaries to that of their CEOs.

Forbes Lists – This website includes lists of 200 Best Small Companies, 400 Best Big Companies, America’s Larges Private Companies, and the Forbes 2000.

Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce – Promotes business opportunities in the greater Miami area, through networking, events, resource-sharing, news updates and more.

Hoovers – A respected name in business, Hoover’s website offers some free financial information. A great site for company overviews.

YahooFinance – This site provides current financial news and opinion, stock quotes, and personal finance information and tools. Additionally, it includes company financial reports such as annual reports, SEC filings, etc.

Data & Statistics

Bureau of Labor Statistics – Provides a wealth of information on so many different topics!

Census 2010 – You may utilize what this site has to offer by browsing data on any area of the country for market research.

Economic Report of the President – On this site check out the report for this year as well as reports from previous years.

FedStats – The official government website compiles statistics from over 100 agencies on such topics as economic and population trends, crime, education, health care, aviation safety, energy use, farm production and more.

Statistical Abstract – The Statistical Abstract of the United States, provides a summary of statistics on the social, political, and economic organization of the United States. Statistics include construction and housing, manufacturers, state and federal government finances and employment, and prices.

Economic Forecasting

Congressional Budget Office – On this site find analysis of budgetary and economic issues that support the congressional budgetary process, with dozens of reports and hundreds of cost estimates.

World Economic Outlook – Produced by the International Monetary Fund, this site provides downloadable PDF reports on the IMF staff’s analysis and projections of economic development throughout the world. Includes databases from which you can download time series data for GDP growth, inflation, unemployment, payments balances, exports, imports, external debt, capital flows, commodity prices, more.

Global Business

The World Bank – This site provides information on the economies of countries around the world, with searchable databases where you can find news articles, annual reports  and get insights into the degree of difficulty in doing business in these countries.

Trade Data Online  – Although primarily a Canadian site, this website also offers import and export data for the U.S. Information can be generated in chart or report form.

World Cost of Living – On this site you will find information about the cost of living in different countries throughout the world.

World Economic Forum – Free economic reports on various regions and industries throughout the world are available through this international non-profit organization.

World Trade Organization – In addition to extensive information on trade topics and news, click on the Resources tab to find statistics, online publications, and the audio and video of WTO events.

Government

Economic Report of the President – On this site check out the report for this year as well as reports from previous years.

GAO (Government Accountability Office) – The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) is an independent, nonpartisan agency that works for Congress. Often called the “congressional watchdog,” GAO investigates how the federal government spends taxpayer dollars. The link provided goes to the GAO’s reports and testimonies page with topics listed in categories, though you can search by keyword or government agency also. Topics cover all areas of government spending such as health care, energy, business regulation, transportation, space, homeland security, and much, much more.

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission – The SEC’s site links to EDGAR filings, litigation information, investor information, podcasts, news releases, and more.

Green Business

GreenBiz.com – Navigate through the “Business Voice of the Green Economy” for news, insights and opinions, events, videos, best practices and more!

Green Business Alliance – This site provides guidance on how to adopt environmentally sensitive daily practices at home and in the office.

Green Money Journal – The mission of Green Money Journal is “to promote awareness of socially & environmentally responsible business, investing and consumer resources.” This site lists socially responsible companies and mutual funds.

SustainableBusiness.com – Provides global news and networking services to help green business grow, covering all sectors: renewable energy, green building, sustainable investing, and organics.

Investing

How stuff Works – Provides a basic overview of the functioning of the stock market. Search this site for such things as overviews of Mutual Funds and Bonds.

Investing in Bonds – Find information provided by the Bond Market Association on this site that includes introductory information on bond basics, buying and selling bonds, types of bonds, and daily and historical prices.

Investor’s Business Daily: Stock Ideas and Stock Research – Evaluate and track the daily movement of stocks with IBD’s advanced research tools. Also includes an Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) Center and an Options Center, with current news updates.

Yahoo Finance Bond Center – This site allows you to search for bonds by type, maturation date, safety level and state.

Mutual Funds Investor’s Center – This site presents the basics of mutual funds, and information on performance, risk and rating.

Women in Business

Catalyst – This organization conducts research in 4 areas: equity in business leadership, career pathways, advancing leader effectiveness and corporate practice.  Many articles may be downloaded for free.

Women in Business – Provides links to biographies of prominent businesswomen, statistical sources, and newsletters and journals.
