EU Libraries recently added a new online database that should be especially interesting to our crisis and disaster management students! The Homeland Security Digital Library (HSDL) is the nation’s premier research collection of open-source resources related to homeland security policy, strategy and organizational management. The HSDL is sponsored by the Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s National Preparedness Directorate, FEMA.
The Homeland Security Digital Library provides EU students with access to over 98,000 documents related to homeland security policy, strategy and organizational management. This collection is growing all the time as the HSDL expands.
The Homeland Security Digital Library is located in the blue databases box on the EU Library’s homepage.
The Homeland Security Digital Library has two available collections, limited and full. EU students have access to the full collection of over 97,000 documents.
In order to access HSDL’s Full Collection, you need to create a log-in for their site. Students MUST use their .edu email address during sign-up to be able to gain access. Please be patient! The approval process may take up to 3 days.
If you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact an EU Librarian for help!
